Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Each week they post a different topic that one of their bloggers answers, and they invite others to join in either by posting their answers as a comment or by creating their own blog post.
This week is all about series, and its a great topic for me because I have so many series on my TBR list. I’ve spent a lot of time reading for my course, but once that’s over I’ll have time to indulge in the books I’ve wanted to read that haven’t quite fitted in with my studies! I can’t remember the last series I got stuck in. I think it was A Song of Ice and Fire!
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I feel like everyone’s read this series but me. I do love a good re-telling but I haven’t read enough of them!
My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante
I used to see this book everywhere when I worked in Waterstones, but I never got around to buying myself a copy. Italy is one of my favourite places, so a story set against the Italian backdrop sounds perfect.
Interview with the Vampire by Anne Rice
I went through a phase where if there weren’t vampires, I wasn’t interested. But somehow I missed Lestat’s story!
Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton
Rebel of the Sands, and its sequel, have been staring at me since I bought them a few weeks ago. It doesn’t help that they look so inviting.
Shades of Magic by V. E. Schwab
I included this book in one of my other TTT posts, but I wanted to include it again because I really need to read this book, and the rest of the series.
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
This is another author I haven’t read but have wanted to for ages. It looks like the fantasy books are doing a good job of creeping onto this list.
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
I don’t think I need to say why I want to read this book. Except dolphins and depressed androids.
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
I read the first book in the series, after watching the TV show and its so good. Time-travel, romance, rebellion. It covers all the bases. I can’t wait to read the next one.
The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett
I watched the TV show for Pillars of the Earth a few years ago and loved it. I always meant to read the book but I never got round to it. Maybe this year I finally will.
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
I’m one of those people who didn’t realise the film was based on a book series. I know, I know. But now that I do, I definitely want to read it.
What series are you looking forward to reading?
OMG, I’ve read and loved so many of the books on your list. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Warm Bodies, and The Pillars of the Earth were all wonderful. I hope you enjoy them.
Interview with a Vampire sounds good as well.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday.

I liked Rebel of the Sands but the sequel was brilliant. I recommend ADSoM too, even though I’ve still got the last one to read… XD

Second books are always a worry for me in case they don’t live up to the first. So I’m glad you liked the sequel! I might have to buy ADSoM soon because it seems to follow me everywhere!

Thank you! Everyone has such nice things to say about the series. It makes me want to read it more!

I feel like almost everyone has been saying ACOTAR, but it is really a great series. Maybe not even that, SJM is just a flippin’ genius when it comes to characters and world building. You should definitely read them at some point. As far as the rest of your list goes I am in the same boat. There are so many books and so little time. I know, it does seem to be cropping up quite a lot! I think if I pick any of these series up soon it will probably be that one!

Outlander is on my list today, too. I’ve seen it on a ton of other lists, so we’re in good company 🙂 I’ve actually read the first book in the series, but it was so long ago that I’ll have to re-read it before I can continue on with the series.
Happy TTT!

Well… I haven’t read A Court of Thorns and Roses either… I don’t think any of cobloggers have but one, to be honest. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Rebel of the Sands – I hope you get to read it soon! ^^

The Shades of Magic books are amazing, I hope you enjoy them! I loved Rebel of The Sands and it’s sequel as well. ACOTAR is decent, but the second book is so much better, I still haven’t read the third.

Rebel of the Sands was a decent YA book, but it really only got started near the end of the book… I have ACOTAR on my list too 😁

Oh really? Hopefully it picks up the pace a bit in the sequel. I’ll have to give it a read and see! 🙂
