THAT’S A WRAP: May 2018

EtheringtonHeaders-That's A Wrap

Does anyone know what happened to May? I’m pretty sure it snuck past me when my back was turned. I have been doing a lot of running around this month. I don’t think there was one weekend in May that I actually stayed at home. This is the first weekend in a while that I’ve done absolutely nothing! And by nothing I mean catching up on blogging and the admin of life.

Reading Summary

I thought I hadn’t had a great reading month, but I’ve surprised myself by reading 5 books, so bravo I guess. I think that’s partly down to how quickly I read Release by Patrick Ness. I just seem to binge on his books whenever I get my hands on them.

  • What Belongs to You by Garth Greenwell
  • Release by Patrick Ness
  • After Me Come The Flood by Sarah Perry
  • The Hand That First Held Mine by Maggie O’Farrell
  • Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton

Books Bought

I went to Hay Festival last weekend so the book buying was inevitable (she tells herself) but based on the stacks of books I brought back last year I didn’t do too badly and only bought four (and then bought some books on Amazon afterwards)! I’m going to do a quick post about my Hay fun later on in the week to show off my new reads.

Other News

Lots of things happened in May. I went back to Liverpool for a fun and gin-filled weekend and got to see my sister’s wedding dress for the first time (spoiler: it’s ridiculously beautiful and she looks flawless in it). I went to Bath to visit my brother’s puppy again. I’ve given up all pretence and started referring to him as my fluffy nephew and have no choice but to shower him in gifts from this day forward. I also caught Sarah Perry’s change-maker event which was so insightful and she was super lovely. And last weekend I went to Hay which I will tell you all about soon!

What have you been up to this month?
