WWW is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Each Wednesday book enthusiasts share their reads by answering three questions:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Hello, it’s me. I haven’t done a WWW Wednesday since the middle of October which seems shocking. I have been reading, I swear – but I read a couple of manuscripts during my internship that I can’t really talk about, so I’ll stick to the books I have read. It’s been a slow few weeks on the reading front but I have finished a few.
What are you currently reading?
I’m a fifth of the way into Helen MacDonald’s H is for Hawk which is a really beautiful book on grief, and draws on her relationship with her father but also the tradition of falconry and it’s just so good. I don’t have a picture at the moment, unfortunately but I’ll try to get one up a the weekend!
What did you recently finish reading?
Some manuscripts which was a really fun experience. But I also finished The Magpie Murders a few weeks ago which was great – a real good read. On the weekend I also finished Essie Fox’s novel Elijah’s Mermaid (another one I don’t have a picture for). It was the first novel I read on Kindle, which is ironic considering its historical fiction. I did enjoy it, seeing the dark underside of London and the way in which women were trapped and manipulated by men. There were a few revelations I didn’t see coming, so I’m excited to get a review up for it soon.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I have no idea. Honestly, not a clue. I think it might be a good time to crack open Wuthering Heights, but with the speed I’m reading at the moment that might take me up to Christmas so who knows?
Wuthering Heights is on my 2017 TBR but I think I’d have to wait for 2018 to read it along with other classics… Enjoy reading. 🙂 Great reads by the way..
