EtheringtonHeaders- WWW Wednesday

WWW is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Each Wednesday book enthusiasts share their reads by answering three questions:

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

I haven’t been on the blog much the last few days because I was away for my birthday weekend and had an interview in London (exciting news to follow) but I have finished a few books on my train journeys!

I finished Sarah Stovell’s Exquisite late last night, but I’m going to read Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s We Should All Be Feminists today.

On my train journey I finished Sebastian Barry’s Days Without End. I did enjoy it, and found it easier to read than I thought, but I didn’t love it. Thomas McNulty has such a strong voice, and it was really compelling to see the effect that army life had on him.

I also finished Exquisite by Sarah Stovell. I think I need to stop saying ‘thrillers aren’t really my thing’ because I do find them gripping and this was such a dark, compelling read. I read it in a handful of sittings, and it was just really, really brilliant. A relationship that starts out innocent and nurturing turns toxic in this psychological thriller.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Here is the exciting news. I had planned to read The Magpie Murders last week, but I have an internship starting at the end of the month and I have some books to read in preparation! I’m super, super excited. I honestly cannot wait. Exquisite was the first of the four books I’ve been given. So I’m onto Bitter Eden by Tatamkhulu Afrika next. I don’t know much about the book, but if its half as good as Exquisite then I’m in for a treat!

What are you reading this week?
