I feel like I say ‘its been a busy few weeks’ too often. But… it’s been a busy few weeks (I know, I know). But the water’s have mostly calmed so I’m back to blogging again! It’s been a bit of a quiet week in reading but here’s what I’ve been up to!
WWW is hosted by Taking on a World of Words. Each Wednesday book enthusiasts share their reads by answering three questions:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
I’m currently reading Lucia Berlin’s A Manual for Cleaning Women. It’s taking me a while to get through it but that’s because I’m trying to take my time for once with a short story collection. I don’t want them to blend into one, but the stories in this collection are so memorable that I doubt there’s any danger of that happening. Berlin has a beautiful ability to create character with the addition of a magenta scarf. There’s entire lives in a handful of pages. Wonderful writing.
What did you recently finish reading?
I had a 5 hour train journey last Tuesday and it gave me the time to finish the last couple hundred pages of Amy Poehler’s autobiography Yes Please. It wasn’t as hilariously funny as I thought it would be, but then it’s about life, and life isn’t always funny. It made me sad that I’m not destined to become the next improv comedian because SNL sounds like so much fun to make.
What do you think you’ll read next?
This is a tricky one. I’m a mood reader, always have been and my physical TBR list is bordering on ridiculous thanks to my visit to Hay Festival last weekend. I bought 16 books that weekend. I’ve bought 3 more since. THAT’S 19 BOOKS IN A WEEK?!! Why did no one stop me. So it will probably be one of those.
Not familiar with any of these. Hope you are enjoying your currnet read. Here is my post

I bought the Amy Poehler a few weeks ago, but haven’t read it yet. It sounds good, but I have so many good books to read. I can totally relate about getting so many books and adding them to my TBR pile. I hope you have a great reading week!

It is good but I feel your pain! There’s a long wait between buying and reading! I hope you get a chance to read it soon. Thanks!

I still haven’t read one and have been wanting for so long… but I know what you mean! Bios cannot be all fun and sunshine… otherwise they wouldn’t be real aka non fiction… 🙂
